Re-Shape Tehran

Organisations

Re-Shape Tehran was a community-focused initiative I co-founded with Setareh Fatehi Irani and Codon in Tehran, Iran. The project centred around a regular series of meetups hosted in galleries and cultural spaces where artists working with technology were invited to present their creative process.

Each session was structured around a consistent format: it featured three artists—one local Iranian artist, one Iranian artist based abroad, and one international guest. This structure allowed for rich conversations that bridged geographic and cultural distances while centring diverse approaches to art, design, and technology.

The goal of Re-Shape was to cultivate a community of curious practitioners—from artists and engineers to musicians and developers—interested in unconventional uses of technology. Events often included artist talks, discussions, and informal peer review sessions, offering a welcoming space for collaboration, exploration, and critical exchange.

The initiative fostered a spirit of openness and experimentation at a time when access to global creative networks in Iran was limited. It remains a valuable example of how artist-led initiatives can help build meaningful connections and spark new creative energy in local contexts.
